She's by a high window in an empty unit. No furnishings, stripped of light bulbs, some inner walling exposed and wires hanging loose. Evening sunlight comes in from the drawn blinds. She’s holding the rifle at her side and watching people go by the entrance. Amstrad walks up behind her and peeks out the window as well.
"They've got someone staking out the front." Kiki points to a window above a bike shop across the street. "He's been there for three days watching the door."
   "Shit."
"Normally I'd have shot him by now. But they'd just send another, or worse, send in counter-snipers. They don't think we're a threat. That's why we're alive."
"I want to make us a threat."
Kiki looks up at him. "What do you mean?"
"I'm getting everyone together. We're gonna become a real team. Everyone pitches in, teaches the others our skills, we start to trust each other."
"I see… Good luck with that."
   Amstrad sighs. "You're not in?"
   "No. I don't trust mercenaries."
   It's hopeless.
Amstrad starts to walk away, but considers what Charomorag says.
   He hates agreeing with Charmorag.
Amstrad walks back to her and sits on the floor.
"Kiki, are you sure we haven't met before?" he asks.
   "Yes."
"This is gonna sound crazy, but I need you to trust me for a second. I've met you before, but I think it's you from the future... uh... you were in Time Prison."
Her face lowers slightly. She looks at him.
"I was there for reasons I can't really explain.” he continues, “I know it sounds crazy, and I can't give you proof, but you recognized me then. It seemed like you thought we were friends."
   "So?"
"So I think we can be friends. I think we'd be better friends than you might think. I'm new to being psychic, you're the best fighter and psychic we have. You could help me a lot, and help me help these people."
"So you can get a paycheck."
"So I can pay rent, Kiki. So I can live."
She thinks deeply for a moment, then laughs at herself. "How can I trust you? How could you possibly have been to Time Prison and be here right now?"
"It's complicated. But I couldn't make that up. I remember you called me 'bro' kind of casually, which seems strange now. I can't picture you saying that. You also told me I could fly."
She considers all that for a while.
   Hopeless.
   "Fine." she says.
   "What? Really?"
"When do we start? I'll help you. For now."
Amstrad can't contain his excitement. "As soon as we can."
